Safety and Operations
School Culture
We build our school community at NCA around knowing each other and being known ourselves. Our established safety culture has been in play from day one. Learning is predicated on a safe environment where students can focus on their studies rather than worry about their wellbeing.
Physical Security
Since NCA opened in 2021, we have won over $250k in grants for campus safety. These resources have allowed us to update and implement physical security features, emergency communication tools, and critical infrastructure components to allow us to be prepared to keep the campus safe.
We partner with trusted organizations such as the Partner Alliance for Safe Schools, the National Center for School Safety, the U.S. Secret Service, and the US Department of Homeland Security for credible information and training resources. We trust partners like these to collect, organize, and deliver timely reports that include the most relevant data available. We also utilize these relationships to find out about grant opportunities at both the state and federal levels.

Training & Drills
NCA staff undergo safety training and emergency response drills throughout the year. Our drills are dynamic and test for multiple scenarios and variables. Additionally, all faculty and staff are CPR, AED, and anti-choking certified. The Georgia Department of Education’s found our preparedness plans to exceed state standards and awarded us the Ready Georgia Seal of Preparedness in its inaugural year, which only 47 schools in the state of Georgia received.
In addition to the aforementioned safety measures, the NCA Operations team partners with experts in their respective fields to ensure safety is a priority in all areas. This includes being a partner with Children's Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA) through their Project S.A.V.E. program and being a member of leadership cohorts related to IT security in schools. NCA also stays in constant contact with the GADoE School Nutrition Division to ensure students are fed and dietary standards are strictly adhered to.
Comprehensive Operation Safety
We have cultivated a strong relationship with the Kennesaw Police Department and Kennesaw/Acworth emergency services. KPD has completed active threat training in our building, has the ability to view our security cameras in real-time during an emergency, and has immediate access to important facility information. We also have a strong relationship with Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security, who set the “best practice” safety standards. These agencies have completed threat assessment visits to our campus and regularly provide their expert perspectives to keep us safe. We conduct meetings with members of our parent community who are first responders and emergency management specialists to learn from their collective experience.
